And, in my opinion, it'll be worth it! Friendly staff, incredible building, fantastic food (and the food is _not_ expensive at all!). The only drawback (to me) is that it's smoker-unfriendly...
The hotel, in an 1876 mansion, was fully renovated in 2000 and is named after the daughter of the owners of Magistr, a prominent local company now devoted to manufacturing twine and marine rope. It's located on Varsavas iela, near the Cathedral of Boris and Glyeb, the Old Believers' church, the largest Catholic church and the Lutheran Church (this cluster of churches is definitely one of the most interesting places in Daugavpils). One of the hotel's oddities is its butterfly collection... A taxi from the train station or bus station costs a lats and a half ($3), should the driver not turn on the meter (and they usually don't).
