  • Not far from centre of the city this hotel is situated. It was built in Soviet times but reconstructed very good. The price for single room is RUR 1500 (EUR 45 around), including breakfast.

    It is an interesting building in a Stalin raqoque. You can pay for the room with a credit card, but not the room incedentals, so plan accordingly.

    The floor "mothers" don't speak any English, so have your phrase book handy...

    When going to Volgograd there are several very nice hotels , but to really experience life there you need to find an apartment down town. You will be able to entertain more privately and the amenities are nice. It is less expensive than a Hotel and the apartments are furnished and clean.

    You can get them with private balconies and very nice views. A local travel agency there will have a listing of several to choose from.

    Everything is in easy travel ( walking ) distance and the transportation is suprisingly inexpensive and reliable. The taxis are good and you can negotiate the price before you go. Also the mini shuttles will take you all over the city for about .50 cents US. the busses are only .25 cents US. A good way to meet local people.

  • I stayed 1 night, and enjoyed.

    beautiful building, not so well organized, restaurants and guest rooms together on the 2nd floor. the suits are great.

  • Business visit. The Hotel has Internet facility in the room and in the Business Center. Location is very convenient and you can walk in a few minutes time over to the Volgograd university, the River Volga and the Theater House is just opposite.

    Around the Corner is the Grand Cafe, probably the most modern Cafe, Restaurant in Volgograd -with a real DJ. Coffee seelction is great and the quality is good. Recommended.

    I stayed in this Hotel for 5 weeks. It has all the normal facilities you would expect.
    The internet connection in the Business Centre is not good, often no connection to the Net, best to go to the Post Office for Internet.
    Laundry list only in Russian.
    Good Security at the entrance.
    Rooms Clean, and Warm in winter.
    Rooms facing the front of hotel can be very noisey in Winter when they scrap the snow off the pavement at 6AM !
    Rooms on 2nd floor, left hand wing have people walking past a lot so that they can reach the Bar/Cafe, Restaurant, Business centre etc. Can be noisey.

    Probably the most secure in the city for your possessions.
    Ability to go to the 'Grand Pizza' and 'Grand Cafe' restaurants without leaving the building, a bonus in winter ! These restaurants being very popular to non hotel guests who have to enter from the pavement outside.

  • Stayed in Hotel for 5 days over 2007 christmas period. The service was above average and the recption staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke a little English. We stayed on the 7th floor and the rooms was very comfortable and clean. The rooms was bigger than average and well equiped. We had little noise. The restuarant was very clean and the food was very hot and good. Included in the price was a hot breakfast which was plentyfull. Overall It was a good 3 star hotel with above average acommodiation and good value for money. I would recommend a stay in this hotel.

    Well postioned for all the site seeing and the hotel had there own taxi service for airport transfer at a reasonable price.

    I never stayed here but my work colleague did.

    One day he came back to the hotel to find nearly all his possessions stolen from his room. His Laptop, Cellphone, suites and other clothes all taken. Nobody in hotel saw anything , knew anything. Police not helpful nor successful in finding the guilty parties. Clearly an inside job by people who had easy access to the room and knew what it had inside that was worth taking.
