 | Agadir Things To Do | Tips 21 - 30 of 57 | | Popular Things To Do | Other Things To Do Tips | All Tips (57) It was a delight to discover Jardim de Olhao, marking the twinning between Agadir and Olhao. This wonderful landscaped park was only at a 5 minutes walk from my hotel in Nouveau Talborjt. The park has a nice unexpected naturally looking design with a variety in trees and plants. It's a very relaxing and shady place. Lots of families and youngsters visit the park. It's a lifely place without giving the feeling to be a crowded, also caused by the small differences in heights and hidden corners. The park is open from 8am till 6.30pm. The entrance is free. The Valley of the Birds or Vallée des Oiseaux is created in a dry riverbed running down from the Boulevard Hassan II to the Boulevard de 20 Aout close to the beach. This narrow green park is a popular place for families to have a look at the birds and to visit the playgrounds. The park has two entrances, so you can make a shaded and green walk coming from the seaside to the citycentre, like I did. You start at the entrance at Bv de 20 Aout. The entrance fee is only 5 dirham for adults. Without hardly any notice during this lovely walk you undercross the Avenue Mohammed and walk along the Place d' l'Esperance. And all of the sudden you stand at the Bv Hassan II close to the Central Market in the citycentre. Opening hours of the Valley of the Birds: daily from 09:30-12:30 and 14:30-18:00 Leave a Comment Directions: Between the Boulevard Hassan II and the Boulevard de 20 Aout, west of the Place d' l'Esperance

This is near the Birds Vally, we sat here and had a beer watching the world go by. The noody train stops here to, its a bit noisy then because they ring a bell on the train for ages to let everyone know the trains in. Leave a Comment Address: At the entrance to Bird Vally

At the groundflour of the Municipal Amazighe heritage museum is a hall for temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. During my visit in summer 2007 there was an exhibition of the work of a local artist named Rachid Fassih. I am always interested to see the art works of local artists, to look how they are expressing their cultural background and roots in their own unique way. In atmosphere and expression the work of Rachid Fassih with its expressive motifs fits very well with the traditional cultural artefacts in the other halls of the Amazighe heritage museum. Looking for the small museum dedicated to the earthquake of 1960, I discovered a very special park, Jardim de Olhao. The park marks the historical ties between Morocco and Portugal, more specific the twinning between Agadir and Olhao. The buildings, walls and structures in the garden have a very unique architecture and design. The combination of original Berber style and Portuguese style is very fascinating. A gallery, library and a lovely cafe-restaurant are built in this style. Together with the landscaping of the park it's a lovely and interesting place to visit. Opening hours 8am till 6.30pm. The Amazighe heritage museum or le Musée Municipal de Patrimoine Amazighe shows a variety of Berber heritage from the region of Souss Massa Draa. Except the pieces of traditonial jewellery you can see all kind of objects of daily life like carpets, pottery and wooden doors. At the first floor is a library wher you can have a look at lots of interesting books of the local culture. A pity that the desk was closed at saturday during my visit. Opening hrs: 9.30am till 5.30 pm Entrance fee: 20 dirham, kids 10 dirham Leave a Comment Address: Avenue Hassan - Passage Ait SoussPhone: +212 28 821632Directions: The museum is situated in the pedestrian area Passage Ait Souss between the Avenue Hassan II and Avenue Mohammed V. You can hardly miss it by the striking mudstyle construction and decorated door in front of the museum.Other Contact: musee_amazighe@yahoo.fr
