 | Sun City Things To Do | Tips 1 - 10 of 121 | | Popular Things To Do | Other Things To Do Tips | All Tips (121) This ranks as one of the most extraordinary hotels in the world. It forms the centrepiece of the amazing Palace of the Lost City. This fairytale was built with incredible attention to detail with interiors featuring exquisite mosaics and amazing hand painted ceilings depicting the South Africa's wildlife and culture. Quite amazing when you think that that this is located in a very remote part in South Africa, far from everything, pretty much an oasis in the middle nowhere! Leave a Comment

One of the main reasons why so many visit Sun City, is for the gambling. Many come here with the hopes of winning that million that is desired by many. Main Gambling areas are at the Entertainment Centre which is close to the Cascades Hotel. Then at the Sun City Hotel, there is another casino. All casinos have machines, as well as Roulette and Blackjack. Leave a Comment

Adjoining the Resort, is the beautiful Pilanesberg National Park, which will delight game viewers as it is a malaria free zone and home to the Big 5. Game Trackers, specialist Wildlife Safari's Tour Operators are situated at the Welcome Centre and guests of Sun City Resort can also enjoy personalised game viewing at the neighbouring 55 000-hectare, malaria free Pilanesberg National Park. There are several wildlife options for guests to choose from. When I was here we choose to go Bakubung. There is other gates like Kwa Maritane. Well this is absolutely beautiful , The story behind the Bridge is that the bridge is guarded by Elephants which is the link to the Hall of Treasures in the Lost City Entertainment area. The funny thing is that there is a volcano that errupts every hour. Remember I told you its all man made. Leave a Comment

Guarded by mightly African Elephants, is the Bidge of Time. This bridge links the Entertainment Centre to the Valley of the waves. On regular intervals throughout the day it will start rumbing giving the impression that its a erupting volcano. Quite cool really, and very popular amongst visitors. Leave a Comment

Monkey Spring Plaza is there to commemorate a troop of monkeys that saved the lives of an ancient tribe from starvation during a drought. Its a really nice water feature, showing monkeys sitting down with their hands sticking out, and the water running between their fingers, very well done. Leave a Comment

The Monkey Spring Plaza commemorates the troop of monkeys which saved the ancient tribe from starvation during a terrible drought. Well as you pass through the Kong Gates the Monkey Spring Plaza is the first thing you see before the Palace of the Lost City. Leave a Comment

One of the more outstanding features of Sun City was the VALLEY OF THE WAVES. Before I had ever seen or heard of Wave Pools, here was one in the middle of South Africa. The amazing thing is the whole beach area was created --- yes --a fake beach. Leave a Comment Address: Adjacent to the Palace of the Lost CityPhone: 2714 557 - 1000Website: www.suncity.co.za

This is where the main Casino is situated. Here is everything here from Great Restaurants and Shops and a excellent Arcade section for the kids. There is also a Cinema and a Night Club. Leave a Comment

Although Hans and I enjoyed our day at Sun City, you really can't take it seriously. It's certainly a popular draw with locals and foreign visitors, but in my opinion it doesn't hold a candle to the real South Africa, like the Natal coast, the wonderful Game Reserves, like Hluhleuwe and Mkuzi that we had the privilege of experiencing. These are the real jewels of South African tourism. Leave a Comment
