 | Delhi Lotus temple Reviews | 1 - 10 of 24 | | "Ajita, suppose there is a person who speaks to another person, saying, 'There is a sutra called the Lotus. Let us go together and listen to it.' And suppose, having been urged, the other person goes and even for an instant listens to the sutra. The benefits of the first person will be such that when he is reborn he will be born in the same place as dharani bodhisattvas. He will have keen faculties and wisdom. For a hundred, a thousand, ten thousand ages he will never be struck dumb." -- from the Lotus Sutra Leave a Comment

Devotees and visitors to the Lotus Temple often gather underneath the temple itself, alongside these pools... There is shade underneath to escape from Delhi's infamous imposing heat and the pools create a peaceful atmosphere... The Lotus Temple is open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. during summer and from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during winter... Leave a Comment Phone: +91-11 647-0526Directions: Kalkaji District of Delhi.

The Baha'i faith asserts the unity of all the world's major religions. However, some muslims are in conflict with the Baha'i because according to Islam, Muhammed was the last prophet whereas according to Baha'i, Baha'ullah was also a prophet and he came after Mohammed... This is a point of debate among the various believers... It is a big part of the trouble with religion: conflict is inevitable due to differences in the various dogmas... An Indian woman in traditional salwar kameez stands on the path leading to the Lotus Temple... The grounds of the temple are incredible spacious and well-groomed, emanating a feeling of serenity and peace... You must remove your shoes before entering the upper precincts of the temple and before you approach that area there is a small building specifically built to store them, free of charge... One of the most amazing architecual achievements in Delhi is the Lotus Temple. This temple was started in 1986 and is shaped like a blooming Lotus blossom. It is huge and white and can be seen from different places in Delhi. I, personally, was not able to actually visit the temple but I saw it from the airplane and it was stil amazing. The Lotus Temple is a Bahain Temple. The Bahai faith is a new religion that started in the late 1800's. It is an offshoot of Islam but not Islamic. The religion stresses the unity of all people into one race. At the temple, you must remove your shoes before entering. Leave a Comment

The Bahai Temple - Completed in 1986, the Bahai temple is set amidst pools and gardens, and adherents of any faith are free to visit the temple and pray or meditate silently according to their own religion. The structure is in lotus shape so it often called the lotus temple. The view of the temple is very spectacular just before dusk when the temple is flood lit. Close on Monday Leave a Comment

The Lotus Temple in South Delhi is the seventh and most recent Baha'i house of worship in the World. Completed in 1986 and visited by over four million people annually, it is crystallization of aspirations of Baha'i followers in over 200 countries. This temple signifies the purity and the universality of the lord and the equality of all religion. The temple is designed to make people conscious about the beauty of life. For, life's beauty can be preserved, rising as the lotus out of swampy slime, clean and perfect - a manifestation of god. Leave a Comment
