it is a temple built by the ISKON - believers of the 'Hare Rama Hare Krshna' genre... there are foreigner priests also here. This place is the perfect example set to show the wide expanse of Indian religon. It is a beautiful temple. Also there is a hall which is used by devotees for common prayers, very peaceful place. There has been excellent use of light on the outside, so the best time to visit is around 1900 hrs. At this time you will also get to see the puja going on, there are lots n lots of people chanting the 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' mantra and the dedications in their voice & on their faces will leave you spell bound. It is the tomb of Mughal Emperor Safdurjung. Made up of red sandstone, the tomb has two graves here, one of Safdarjung and the other presumably his wife's. The square central chamber of the mausoleum is surrounded by eight rooms all around it. Leave a Comment Directions: Located in south delhi, its one of the easiest places to reach by bus and taxi.

SUNSET FROM PARTHASARTHI ROCKS This is said to be the highest point in New Delhi. It is or it is not ...i am not sure. But yes, if you are nature or photography freak, just take bus number 615 from Super Bazaar in Connaught Place and get down at admistrative block in Jawahar Lal University. From here will have to walk 200 mts to the point called Parthsarthy Rocky. Mornings are superb but in the evenings you will miss out on silence as a lot of University students and lovers assemble here. Leave a Comment

Go see the Mahatma Gandhi statue. It is in the Mahatma Gandhi Park. I am not sure that this is an absolute must-see, because the statue wasn't very big or anything, it just seems like something you should do, he was a great leader after all. Beware though, it was quite hard to find the right spot! Leave a Comment

Hanuman Mandir-This temple devoted to Hanuman-the monkey-king,the mythological charachter who rescued Rama's wife Sita from Lanka(Sri Lanka),and thus provided a happy end to the epic-Ramayana. The area around the temple, gives you the essential nature of Indian life-there are hawkers selling their wares-everything from garlands, auspicious beads, beautiful bangles, prasad and even 'ganja'(marijuana!!)-so be careful. The bangles available at the endless row of stalls, are lovely, and brides from all parts of India boast of buying their hand adornments from the famed Hanuman Mandir stalls. Interesting way to spend some time-buy some gorgeous bangles as a souvenir(bargain-halve the prices atleast!!) Leave a Comment
