Rajpath-This plce symbolises,to me, the gist of Delhi-it's majesty and grandeur-all found on one long road!!!!!
This avenue is the site of the Republic Day Parade(on 26th January)It extends from the Indira Gandhi National Sports Museum to the Rashtrapati Bhavan(that's the residence of the President of India!)
Rajpath is also home to the National Museum.
Impressive,huh?:)

Leave! But while you're there, the best place I found was the Rajpath. I could have been in London or Paris, if the groundskeeping had been better. Beautiful though, really. Walk though, don't rickshaw it, unless you're the kind of person who's into that kind of thing. Leave a Comment

You will want to see the Red Fort (closed on Mondays), the India Gate, Hamuyan's Tomb (a building comparable - though much more modest - to Taj Mahal), or the Tomb of Mahatma Ghandi. There are a number of other places to see, but these should not be missed.

On this web page you can find out about a guided walk by former street kids who are now part of Salaam Baalak trust, an NGO that helps street kids in Delhi.
The walk lasts between 1 and 2 hours and takes you around the train station, Paharganj and to one of the centers where the children are housed and educated. Cost is Rs 200 but larger donations are welcome.
