When I arrived to Jakarta to see my fiance, we planned in advance to go sightseeing in Bandung. She knows many places to go in this city and surprised me! What I mean by this is our visit here turned to be wonderful time. Bandung has many places to see and do and is slower pace than Jakarta. Sort of reminds me of Bali. We stayed at Sangria Resort & Spa for one night and it was very romantic. (see my places to stay review) I WILL BE BACK TO BANDUNG in future trips! Leave a Comment

EVEN modernisation was long time accepted and addtable in this community, but the traditional life still carry on as usual. Bullocart as a one source of their daily transportation to carry a goods from the nearer plantation to the city. Leave a Comment

PHOTO : Paddy Field, Common Scenery Outskirt Of Yogyakarta City. OVER all source of income local villagers came from farming. PADI as a main core in their effort to earn a living. The return, not really good. Imported rice from China and Myanmar much more cheeper then locally produce. They have not much choice since the land just suit for Padi only. Leave a Comment

PHOTO : Post Office Building In The Yogyakarta, Clearly Seen The Dutch Occupation In The Colonial Day. First of January is a public holiday for Indonesia. Last night ( 31st December 1995 ), there are a big crowd whole over the city, peoples are celebrating a coming New Year. They came as far as 40 kilometer to joint the celebration in the city. People are there during an early hours, as early as 12.00 noon, to *book* a good place. I'm consider lucky, with a 5' 9 ' height no problem to move a round to find a batter position. The road a long Jalan MALIOBORO were packed, no vehicle permit to enter the area, just people, people and people. Hardly to move your shoulder....hah ha, pickpocket is every where. I placed my wallet and passport inside my Levi's Dangree Jacket ( specially homemade inside pocket with safety buttons ). Leave a Comment

A long the way from KEDIRI to SOLO ( Central Java ), our trip past through the sugarcane plantation and * Teak Jungle* infact TEAK was planted as timber for local consumption and export product. Curious to know, who is the sucssesful farmer who are very energytic to built such huge plantation. The answer given was very sour....It's belong to PAK HARTO & FAMILY ( Former President SUHARTO and his family ). In my heart saying * what to do *... ' In the country of BLIND man, man with a single eye become a KING '..... Leave a Comment

visit Dago Pakar if you are a nature lover or just lovers..;) The scenery there is great.
What I will miss most about Bandung is the weather. In Singapore, where I am from, the weather was extremely humid so Bandung's cool and sunny weather is a pleasant change. Leave a Comment

Mount Papandayan. This is the habitat of 'edelweisz' flowers ('everlasting flowers') and national park.

stop at TANGKUPAN PERAHU, a once-active volcano area (you can smell the sulphur) and enjoy a hot bath in one of the many hot-springs (believed by the locals to cure all kinds of joints sickness).
On the way up the mountain, stop at one of the 'NASI PADANG' stalls at BOGOR and enjoy a feast of Indonesian food .... hot and spicy (one of my favourite). You'll be served about 20 different kinds of dishes even if you eat alone. The cost of a meal? About US$2 per person... cheap!cheap! ... as our PM said like a bird!
