I went club hopping with my hubby and his insomniac French and American colleagues one night. Decided on this place as Lonely Planet ( the English and French version), the bible for all clueless travellers, said it was the hottest spot in town.
We hit it all right, drank our magaritas there and danced silly on the techno-lighted dance floor. We were sane enought though, to leave the pool table and cafe alone.
So was the Lonely Planet accurate? Ok, it was a hot spot but all the fun was somewhat watered down by the presence of 2 vigilant policemen in the club. What the hell were they were doing there anyway? They stood there all night, ram-rod straight with a funny expression. Well, perhaps, they were just tormented by all the hot music and unable to dance in those stiff green uniforms.

I went to Apocolypse Now on a weekday night and found it a little slow. There was a good crowd there, but nothing too exciting. I expected the place to be a lot bigger, but it really seemed a lot like any other ex-pat bar in Asia. Leave a Comment Theme: Nightclub

after reading reports here on VT we just had to check this place out. its smaller than i imagined it, but still it played good music and had a good mix of people. i thought the security was a bit extreme, but maybe they get a lot of trouble there, i dont know.....
this is where we were on new years eve, and from what i remember it was a good night with a good atmosphere.

Pretty much everyone living in Saigon knows about Apocalypse now, which dates back to the R and R days when american soldiers were stationed in Saigon. You'll quickly notice that this is a foreigner orientated bar with quite a number of gay regulars. Also available are ladies of the night, working girls with most speaking excellent English. The music is pretty good with a mix of new and old stuff. There is an area with tables where you can sit down and there is also a dance area where you can bop until it closes at 1am. Watch out for the friendly girls.

I couldn't believe it when I went there, but that is actually the name of a bar in Saigon. It felt a little strange, but after a few ice cold '333's, the strangeness will pass and you can just enjoy yourself. T-shirts from this bar make for an interesting souvenir.

Definitely a place to go. Cool music, which suites all tastes. Nice girls to meet. Good local beer. But they close very early!

My German and Singapore colleagues and myself had the worst experience in this club. We came to check out this place and hoping to have a few good drinks. We were there at about 9.30pm. Ordered 3 rounds of drinks, B52, next was Beer, and finally Tequilla pop. At 11pm, we finished our last round of drink and had ordered for another round of Lamborghini cocktails. We waited for about 20mins and the drinks still did not come, but what came was a waiter who took away our table by puuling away from us. He did not even gave us a chance to ask. I guess he must be thinking that we had no drinks on the table and were wasting their time.
This is not a big club, just a small dance floor, a pool table and loud music. It was packed on this Thursday nite (Int'l Womens Day was probably the reason), a mixture or locals and foreigners. Don't expect to pick up any girls here and forget about finding "hot afterburners" girls as well.
I don't think they will miss my business, even though i will never step into this club again and naturally i have to forwarn you if you do want to give it a try. But i think there are better clubs in HCM City that you could spend your money in.
