The General Post Office, adjacent to the Notre Dame cathedral, was built from 1886 to 1891 by by Gustave Eiffel. The architecture style is french colonial. Enter the post office and you'll notice the immense ceilings, it has the feel of a train station. You also can't miss the massive portrait of good old Ho Chi Minh. They sell stamps and souveniers inside. Leave a Comment

This French architecture is one of the popular sights in HCMC. I was surprised that it is opened when I was there on a Sunday afternoon! A set of postcards would cost 7,000 VND (less that USD1!). You have a wide range of choices to choose from. Postage for a postcard to any part of the world also costs 7,000 VND. I just sent one back home! Have fun posting in Ho Chi Minh City! Leave a Comment Directions: The Post Office is located next to the Notre Dame Cathedral. It is within walking distance from the various hotels in District 1. Take a stroll on a cool day!

A very nice colonial building, this Post Office reminds a train station inside. There is a huge Ho Chi Minh portrait at the end of the central hall. Here you can find many new stamps collections,a s well as independent stamp sellers at the main gate. Stamps are a nice and cheap souvenir of Vietnam, there are many of the ?Indochine? times and of the Vietnam War era. It is located near the Notre Dame Catedral. Leave a Comment

The French had left behind a wealth of architecture in HCMC. The 2 most prominent French legacies have to be the General Post Office and the Notre Dame Cathedral. Both are side by side so you can kill two birds with one stone. I am not much of an architectural person, but both places made for great photography! However, as these 2 spots are almost on any tourist's itinerary, be prepared to contend with crowds! Leave a Comment

The City Post Office is just next to Notre Dame. You can hop in for some postal & phone services if you happen to done writing some postcard that you purchase from poor orphans (mostly overpriced). IDD calls using VoIP are sold at post-office and of course other cyber cafes too. Leave a Comment

The beautiful colonial General Post Office facing the cathedral square was completed at about the same time as the cathedral (19th century). With its huge clock and cavernous interior, the post office has the air of an old-fashioned railway station. You can buy stationery, stamp collections and foreign coins, some even left over from the former South Vietanm regime. The post office is one of many places where you'll be mobbed by people, including children, selling postcards and other tourist trinkets. Leave a Comment

Well I heard all about it here on vt and wasn't dissapointed. The Post Office in Ho Chi Minh is a beautiful building. Inside the architecture is something else!! A trip to Ho Chi Minh is not complete without posting a card from the Post Office :o) Leave a Comment

The post office was built by the French and designed by Gustav Eiffel of tower fame. It looks more like a train station than a post office. One of the highlights is the old map of Indochina. It is right opposite the Notre Dame Cathedral. Leave a Comment

You must post a letter from this post office. It is a cool thing to do in the advent of the internet. Post it to yourself, you mum&dad, your ex? The outside view is fantastic let alone the inside of the postoffice. You are greeted by the Great leader himself . A huge photo of him can be seen as you enter. I am told it will take 10 days to reach the destination. 10 DAYs! The internet email can take 10secs! Other Interesting HCMC Places Leave a Comment Directions: Beside the Notre Dame. You can take a Cab easily, cost about US$1 by cab to H. New World Other Contact: Appreciate your rating below
