 | Ho Chi Minh City Buses Reviews | 1 - 10 of 11 | | There are several bus stations around the city that each serve different destinations. Facilities are very basic and are unlikely to have more than food stands serving local snacks. Services on short journeys depart when they are full and those traveling longer distances generally depart early in the morning. It is not possible to book tickets over the telephone and visitors should go to the relevant bus station the day before to check the schedule for the following day and purchase their ticket. In addition, a very useful telephone number is 1080 where English-speaking operators can give information on timetables. The bus to Cambodia (better known in Vietnam as Kampuchea), operated by Cong Ty Xe Khach Saigon (tel: (08) 920 3623), departs from 309 Pham Ngu Lao Street, District 1, twice daily for the nine-hour journey to Phnom Penh. The Cambodian visa should be arranged in advance but can be obtained at the border crossing point. Buses to Dalat, Buon Ma Thuot, Nha Trang, Danang, Hue and Hanoi depart from Mien Dong Bus Station (Ben Xe Mien Dong) (tel: (08) 898 4893), on Xo Viet Nghe Tinh in Binh Tan District. Other bus stations include Ben Xe Mien Tay, Kinh Duong Vuong Street, An Lac, Binh Tan District (tel: (08) 875 2953), which has a special booking service located a little nearer to the city center at 765 Le Hong Phong, District 10 (tel: (08) 752 0364); Ben Xe Cholon, 86,Trang Tu, District 5 (tel: (08) 854 8832), and Ben Xe Tay Ninh on Truong Chinh Street, Tan Phu Disctrict, for buses for Tay Ninh Province, has renamed and relocated the passenger pick up area to Ben Xe An Suong, Quoc Lo 22, Xa Ba Diem, Hoc Mon District (tel: (08) 883 2513). There is one private bus company operating routes within the city, Saigon Star Bus Company tel: (08) 864 2762 Theme: BusPhone: (848) 864-2762

When you arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, wander past the taxis and touts waiting outside the international terminal. Head towards the domestic terminal and you will find that there is a local bus, number 152 that will take you into town. The cost was 3,000 dong plus an extra 2,000 dong for luggage. We were able to get off the bus right next our hotel in De Tham street in the Pham Ngu Lao area. This bus ride was our very first taste of Vietnam and being up higher than in a taxi we were able to take in so much more! We had the locals on the bus in stitches as they watched us laughing and gasping at the chaotic traffic! Theme: Bus

If you intend to visit HCMC from Phnom Penh, purchase the bus ticket from Capitol GH in Phnom Penh. The guesthouse is actually working with Sinh Cafe in HCMC. The whole journey is devided into 2 pars. The first part is from Phnom Penh to MocBai (Cambodia-Vietnam border) and the 2nd part is from MocBai to HCMC. You will be sitting in a van rather than a bus until u reached MocBai. The van depart at 6:45am and reach the border around 5 hours later. During this 1st part journey, they van will stopover at a restaurant for lunch. It is advice to take the lunch because you will reach HCMC in the laet afternoon. Second part of the journey is after the stamp in custom, in vietnam site, there is a waiting house across the custom counter ( after you get your health cert). This is where you wait for the bus to go HCMC. The bus is now supplied by Sinh Cafe. The time from border to HCMC is around 2.5 hours. But the problem is, you have to wait for the bus to reach. In my last trip, we crossed the border at 12 noon but the bus reached here on 2pm, that is why you re adviced to take your lunch first. The bus will bring you from MocBai to Pham Ngu Lao area in HCMC where the sinh cafe located. The ticket from Phnom Penh cost 6USD. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

Here is our OPEN tour bus in Vietnam. The 'OPEN' ticket cost U$22 from Saigon up to Hanoi but you can stop at Mui Ne, Dalat, Nha Trang, Hoi An and Hue. That's means you are going to all these places for only U$22. They drop you at tourist area, so easy to get a room. You can get a direct bus from Saigon to Hanoi, or Hanoi to Saigon but it's like 40 hours and the condition of the bus is real poor, although I didn't try it but I saw many direct buses carrying motorbikes, animals and all kind of stuffs. Hello Kanchibenji, From Ben Thanh Market you can take the Bus go to Dam Sen. I don't remember the price exactly, but it will be less than 1 USD ( of couse you will pay in Vietnam Dong). To go to Suoi Tien park, you can go to Dien Bien Phu Street, ( this is one way street), along the street, there are some buses station that you can go to Suoi Tien Park. The one I recommend you is take to bus Number 150 from Hochiminh City to Tan Van- Near Dong Nai Bridge. Suoi Tien is about half way of the trip to Tan Van. There is a bus stop in front of Suoi Tien Park, so you can go there by bus. ( The cost last year was VND 3.000 ( ~ 20 or 30 cents in USD). I don't know the price now. The Zoo is not much to see in comparison with Parks in Western countries, But one place you can go for fun with your children is the "water puppetry show". Place: In side the Historical Museum and inside of the City Zoo. ( T-Junction of Le Duan Street and Nguyen Binh Khiem Street). Time: 15 minutes every hour from 8:00AM to 4:00 PM ( including Sundays). Take care. Thai Theme: Bus
