    In order to get around in San Pedro, you can either rent a golf cart(which is fun), rent a bicycle, or walk. No matter which you choose to do, it's still fun.

    Two Sides to This Town..

  • Most people arrive here by lancha. I was here for three days before I realized the town had two sides to it, connected by the most confusing little twisty dirt path.. it's also connected by a main road, but that main road meanders up into the city quite a ways before coming back down on the other side. Anyway.. if you come in from Pana, you will end up on the big side, if you come from Santiago, you will be on the small side. I liked the smaller side much much better. Very quiet and has a GOOD ex pat scene.

    There are two airlines that service Ambergris Cay Maya Island and Tropicair.We have been using Maya Island the past couple of times.The staff and ground crews are polite and friendly.
