 | Korcula Restaurants | Tips 1 - 10 of 19 | | Popular Restaurants | Other Restaurants Tips | All Tips (19) The restaurant is situated in a floor level of one old house on a main old-town promenade. They prepare grilled meals in the same room, and that is one amusing performance! Chef is funny grumpy man making jokes and tossing food as if doing some witchcraft. Hard to get the table after 19.00, so make a reservation. Long wooden tables and benches mean you get to sit and chat with other people.
We had some grilled meat and I ordered Pasticada - beef marinated in vinegar, with special spices (cloves, too!), cooked in dark sauce and served with potato dumplings. Mmmm… Leave a Comment

Riva-1 is an excellent and sophisticated restaurant in the town of Prizba on the southern shore of Otok Korcula. We rolled into this sleepy town and thought that mistakes had been made in the translations on the menu. All was correct and everything we ordered was presented beautifully and was delicious! The family had left Croatia in the 50's and moved to Australia. +40 years later they returned to their home with their Australian raised son, now a chef, to open a restaurant on a peaceful bay. As the restaurant is only open for the summer, the family was going to be busy all winter finishing the new apartments which are situated above the restauant for the summer season of 2004 .

Driving from Dubrovnik to Korcula, we passed through the town of Mali Ston (a few miles before you get to the ferry at Orebic). There, we had a phenomenal lunch at a seafood restaurant called Bella Vista. As the name implies, it's high on a hill with a lovely view down to the Ston harbor--see the photo here.
My friend and I split the seafood platter, which is advertised as serving two people. Actually, it's more like four! The platter included huge quantities of delicious grilled and fried fish and shellfish, plus French fries and salad. It was amazing. The Marco Polo had pretty much the same menu as every other restaurant in Croatia--pasta, fish, risotto, grilled meat, salads, and cheese plates. But the shrimp risotto I got at this place was superb--the best plate of food I had in the country. The Marco Polo is located on one of the streets that head off to the right. I can't remember which street it's on, but it comes before you hit the main square in the center of town.

We had lunch in a small restaurant, testing the guide's lesson explaining us that the streets were broken in angles in the sea side, to cut the freezing winds in winter, and straight in inland side to allow the flow of refreshing summer breezes. We were cool, in the esplanade, but the lunch was banal. Nothing to remember nor complaint. But descending to the walls by the sea, we discovered a long series of restaurants with excellent look, and, competing door to door, they must have a good quality-price ratio. Next time... There is a really good pizza joint in the square with the church that has lions on it's doors. Their sign in all over the island, it's orange and white I think. I suggest getting take-out and taking your pie to the waterfront where you can sit on a bench or the wall and watch the sunset or the ships go by on their way up and down Croatia's coast. These mussels were so fresh and tasty and cheap. Don't pass them by and can find them at almost every restaurant in town. Leave a Comment

This is the restaurant where I photod the mussels and the spaghetti bolognese. I forgot the name of it but if your walking from Korcula town towards Bon Repos it'll be on the right hand side. It's the only restaurant with an upstairs patio that has a bamboo roof and looks over the water polo pool and sea. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalAddress: across the way from the water polo pools
