If not, the hotels provide shuttles to city center, serving with short intervals. Then there is always the public bus or taxi option. The taxi fares are not exactly cheap but not be well worth in the middle of the night, or for out-of-the-way destinations. Here is a map of the city that points out main locations. It's fairly easy to getto bellapais and saint hilarion... In both cases you can take a taxi, and it won't cost you a fortune. To bellapais all taxis use a meter, so you'll know you'll be paying the correct price. Once you are over there, and have visited the abbey, just ask around if anyone is willing to take you to saint hilarion castle, and negotiate a price. It costed us 20 turkish liras to get there, and the taxi arranged for us to come back in a couple of hours to pick us up - eithe himself or a friend, he said. His friend came very punctual. Saint Hilarion is located about half-way between Girna and Nicosia, and then still another bit over winding mountain roads and past some army trainig camps and shooting ranges. Considering the distance, the price was very correct. Leave a Comment Theme: Other
