The Boghjalian, named after an Armenian who built the house in the 19th century, is a great spot for those of you who crave delicious food (meze and mixed kebap), and a cozy atmosphere. The house itself is beautiful with its high ceilings and authentic decoration. The restaurant is specially good for big gatherings. Sometimes there would be a musician playing Turkish classics. There is also a nice cozy 'Orient' room (Sark odasi), where you can enjoy your Turkish coffee, desert and nargile.
Mezes... And their salad! Meat always taste good, too! Leave a Comment Theme: Middle EasternPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: ArabahmetPhone: +90 392 2280700Directions: Old city, Nicosia.

Well, I like this place because of its great food and atmosphere. Located just next to the Selimiye Mosque, you can enjoy your dinner with lights reflecting from this great structure. The chef (and also one of the owners) is Portuguese and the menu he prepared consists mostly of Italian dishes, and some classic Spanish ones - like paella and a variety of tapas... Mostly on Wednesdays and Fridays nights, the place has tasty live music. The only problem I encountered in the past was non-professional attitude of waiting staff. But they are trying to improve that, and food will make you forget about it!!
The tapas - the calamari one and the octopus are my favourites. Main dishes - Chicken with herbs, Fettucine with chicken, Calamari salad... Located in the historic Büyük Han (Great Khan), Sedirhan Cafe offers its customers a small but fine selection of Turkish and Turkish Cypriot cuisine. The menu includes manti (ravioli), hellim and kiyma borek (thinly wrapped dough filled with cheese/minced beef), bulgur koftesi (wheat rolls), katmer (sweets made out of fried though), firin kebabi (kleftico), and molohiya (traditional vegetable dish). If you don't fancy anything to eat, then you can still enjoy a good selection of (non)alcoholic drinks. Red and white house wine are available. Traditional yoghurt drink Ayran and home-made lemonade are also usually available. The cafe operates until 5pm during week days, and until 1pm on Saturdays. Closed on Sundays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, there is live music starting around 9pm and the cafe is open until 1am.
Manti, which is freshly made, is what I consider the speciality of Sedirhan. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Büyük Han, Asmaalti Street.Directions: Old city, North Nicosia.

If you are craving for some döner (gyros), this is the place to go! It's not a fancy restaurant, but a cozy one where you would just go and enjoy your food.
Iskender (Döner with yoghurt and pitta bread) is almost everyone's favorite - and why this place is better known for! This in my opinion is the moste tastefuly decorated restaurant in Nicosia. The food is excellent and the service is one of the best around. I have yet to have a dish there that I didn't like. The food is rightly spiced for non Indian's tastes too. They also have a branch in Ayia Napa with the food there being equaly good.
Excellent tandoori dishes with naan being best this side of Bombay. Shrimp puri is also very well done. Kulfi is the best you can get in Cyprus but is a rather small portion. Abu Faycal, like many other places, is an old converted house set in the back streets of the centre of Nicosia. The best time of year to visit is during the summer when the garden is open. You will find your traditional Lebanese mezze in a very nice setting. Ghazi, the owner, is very welcoming and obliging. He is a bit of an institution is Nicosia as he has been established for over a decade. He can cater for you to take away food if you have a special occasion and started to deliver lunches as well. He has tried many times to get me to organise a Moroccan food night but even if I love cooking for my friends, in a restaurant it is a different story. So far I have declined but you never know I might change my mind... This is one of my favorite places and until recently it was an even more special place.... If you feel like eating Italian, this is the best place in town. A great pasta and pizza menu :o) It is a very small place but they have a lot of tables outside in the summer. Leave a Comment Theme: ItalianComparison: about averageDirections: In the old town on Ledra Street

It's a small shop selling pork gyros. That is grilled pork on a horizontal stick that revolves next to a heating element. It is served in a pitta bread with a variety of trimmings.
Gyros is the only thing they serve and they know how to make it...Three Cyprus Pounds will get you a pitta and an imported Heineken beer. This place is located on the Turkish side of Nicosia inside the Han. Nestled in one of the corners of the courtyard is the Sedirhan Cafe. The opening times are a bit of a mystery and just recently realised that it is open during the day on saturday. The first time I have eaten here was during the night and a band was playing. The magical surroundings of the Han, coupled with the oil lamps on the tales, made this experience even more enjoyable. I had a sort of a chicken stew which was absolutely delicious :o) I would highly recommend lunch or dinner here!
