 | Prague Jo's bar Reviews | 1 - 10 of 13 | | Once a comforting place to tuck away in when the quirks of Prague were getting too much, Jo's Bar now seems content in it's old age to have a snooze in front of the TV then get to bed early. It's still a cosy wooden bar area with some more discreet tables out back, but the place has lost it's edge since the 'Garaz' downstairs has closed. Without that crumbling cellar place, always a great little room to dance to Chilli Peppers in a smokey, rough-edged, fire-exit-free place until the early hours, now the only thing to do is stack up on comfort food and discuss where you're going to head next.

I love this place. I have met some really interesting people in here - and drank into the early hours The bar is on several floors - although you might not notice this as the stairs are through a seperate entrance on the street. the staff are friendly and the bar has every thing from Slivovicz to Absinthe - and all the on tap beers you could need. Check out the mural on the wall - and see if you can spot the gay gnomes(?) - very odd the food is good too - should you need some stodge to soak up the booze enjoy

I was last here in December '02. The food was good and reasonably priced. The bar is popular with tourists and back packers. All the staff speak English. I think it's owned by a scottish guy? A good place to go for a beer if you're the castle side of Charles Bridge. Leave a Comment

If you need to hear some English spoken, Jo's Bar is the place for homesick Americans, Aussies and Brits...but yet it isn't cheezy. You can see Jo's bar as a location in that Vin Diesel movie, XXX. (A bit of trivia: other movies filmed in Prague include Amadeus, Mission Impossible, The Bourne Identity, Shanghai Knights, and A Knight's Tale) Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubDirections: Mala Strana, near the church

I visited this bar several times in the 1990s because it was one of the first to offer Mexican Food and Cocktails and a nice backpacker atmosphere. Here's a legendary conversation from Joe's Bar in the mid nineties: My friend "I'd like to have an orgasm (cocktail)" Waitress "And why are you still here?" In 2007 I came back for a drink during the day and it seems like not much has changed. I wish I had had the chance to come back in the evening and feel young again ;) It seems like this place is still a favourite of expatriates living in Prague. The cecret of Jo's bar is a US clientele and good Mexican food. The margaritas are great and Sunday brunch seems to be very popular. Theme: Live MusicDirections: Malostranské namesti 7

True this tends to be full of tourists, a place where you wont be far away from a North American accent but I like this place all the same. The downstairs only opens once a month these days, but if you can grab a table near overllooking the square then you have the best of both worlds, and opens late
Anything goes Leave a Comment

Jo's is a cheerful bar serving foaming beers to crowds of young expats and backpackers. The handiest one in Mala Strana can be a good time for dancing, but just as often there's nothing on at all except desultory beer drinking. Leave a Comment

I have been to Joe's Club for two times1 Maybe it was a bit early but it was not that crowded. %60 of the people were locals but the club seemed to lack energy!
