At summer, between June and August, depending on the weather... There is a perfect place for picnic where the river meets the sea, near the Camping area just two kilometres from city center. Follow Kokonniementie at the very end and you will end up to this park. It is very close the Campingsite, but do not turn up to the hill, follow the river. Some local people go there for fishing. Once I've seen people practising Tai-Chi there... Actually this place it not very known even by locals or at least they dont use it a lot. It is a beautiful place. There is also two grills and normally there are some wood also but you need matches! And be carefull with that fire. Leave a Comment

After enjoying the view and few photos you could continue your walk on top (as you already are there) of the hill following the path. After 150 metres walking you will come to an restaurant (open only at lunch time, not expensive, typical Finnish food) Honkala. From there you can take the road (beginning at the restaurants yard and going down the hill like a serpentine) towards Old Town... 10-15mins of walk and you are at the the bridge to Old Town! Somehow I think that if one comes to Porvoo (s)he should go on top of the rock of Näsinkivi, where there is an "observation stage". From there, depending on the season (no leafs on the trees, no fog...), one can lay eyes over Porvoo. When entering to Porvoo from Helsinki, just before the main brigde turn left. If you a with a car park it next to "R-kioski" (at the junction) and start walking up the hill. You will see the rock at your right. Climb up, there are stairs, and Enjoy the view. ... read part 2/2 also Leave a Comment

From old town you will find this Great Toyshop. From here you can't find computer games and plastic. Here you will find oldtimes toys like Wooden cars, Caledoscope, tiny furnitures to your dollhouse. Very charming place but also full of tourists and buyers. Here you can find a trip to your childhood. I highly recomend that you visit the shop even though you wouldn't buy anything. Take a memorylane to old days :) Leave a Comment

The Old Cannon served in the Continuation War (1941-1944) between Finland and the Soviet Union. The Cannon is situated near the Old Bridge on the western bank of the Porvoo river from where panoramic views of the Old Town can be enjoyed. Leave a Comment

Porvoo is known by beautyness of it's women. Many Miss Suomi candidates have been from Porvoo and may I say, one of the most beautiful woman in Finland, Janina Frostell, was born and raised up there. Janina moved to Helsinki couple of years ago, but you can still see her in Porvoo, 'cause her parents lives there. As a child Janina lives in suburb area of Porvoo, called Kevätkumpu. Those days there wasn't that many houses and asphalt roads than nowadays. It was more countryside type palce, with wooden houses. But well, in Porvoo you may see many gorgeous women and girls.
