A legend goes that if you put a lock on this fence, you will have eternal love. Couples place locks, sometimes with their name inscribed in them. People also put them here when they graduate from college or high school. Actually if you keep walking down on the same street, you will see a second fence, also filled with locks. The first one is quiet full already. If you want your darling to be with you till eternity, install a lock here together and trow away the key. Leave a Comment Other Contact: Arany János utca

Christianity gained ground in Sopianae in the 3rd century. The large early Christian cemetery of the city lay below today's cathedral and the surrounding area. The unearthing of the burial places started in the 18th century and continue to this day. Tombs, burial chambers, burial chapels and two-storied sepulchral monuments were excavated. The martyrs were usually buried in the more adorned buildings. The frescos of the buildings portray events and people from the Bible and are decorated with Christian symbols.
