It doesn't matter how long you stay in Kinsale. Whether you are a day visitor or a traveller who has been coming back to the town year after year, you will find yourself amongst the ones who walk the Harbour walk. The locals do it, the tourists do it -- we all do it.
The swans glide gracefully across the water. The children pull away from their parents, skipping with glee. A mother pushes back the stroller's canopy to expose her baby to the gentle breeze. An old couple walk slowly hand in hand. Tourists snap pictures. A woman lifts her face to the sun for a moment, breathes in deeply, and returns to her shop. A man sips coffee while leaning against his car, looking out to the water.
It's another day in Kinsale, another day at the harbour, another day to realize that life is beautiful and precious, and another day to feel thankful that you are here to experience it. Leave a Comment

The marina with its rows of glitzy yachts slapping against their moorings, is the image most associated with Kinsale. Perhaps this is the reason I mention it last because, as we have seen , there is so much more to Kinsale than a pretty harbour and red sails in the sunset. But as harbours go, they dont come much prettier then this and sitting anywhere along the quays is a delightful way to while away an hour or more.There are a few monuments to those lost at sea along the quayside and most notably, in honour of our Spanish comrades in arms, a viewing platform in the shape of a Spanish galleon. Address: Pier Road, Kinsale.Directions: Just down from the tourist office and near the bus stop.

Lots of nice boats, yatchs and the like anchor here. Also renown for Rugby, whilst I was there so was half of the world's rugby population I felt tiny!!!! Leave a Comment

The photo is a photo taken looking back on Kinsale having driven through it. Just thought I'd mention that there are a few miles (kilometers!) passed Kinsale that are nice to stroll around too while you are in the area. Theres a little beach called Summer Cove (eeks, hope i have the name correct here!?! ill confirm later!!) across the water from Kinsale, you can get here by driving out, over the bridge to the left, and take a left again. Theres a pub here where you can get food and of course drink, and you are practically on a little beach right here. There is Garretstown beach, Charles Fort, Old Head of Kinsale, Oysterhave etc, all within the region of Kinsale Leave a Comment
