 | Dingle Nightlife | Tips 1 - 10 of 23 | | Dingle - town is a great place to go, when you enjoy to hear traditional Irish music at a pub. There are plenty of music-pubs with live music during the summer season - most of them directely at the port of Dingl-town. In general you will find lots of pubs with Irish folkmusik each night in Dingle Town, and unfortunately this town became packed with hundreds of backpackers and busloads of tourists every day in summer - a pity, because prices went up and the "Irish feeling" is gone at many places.
Nobody cares about a dresscode in Dingle Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicDirections: Most of the music-pube are close to the harbour, take a walk through the small village and you will pass by them anyway.

Spent a few evenings here last November and was thoroughly taken with the people and the atmosphere. Was staying at the B&B just across the street and needed to unwind after the drive down from Galway, especially driving the Conor Pass in fog. The pub consists of a series of interconnected rooms. The main room has a peat fireplace and lots of seating. Off to the right is the bar itself and then in back are two smaller rooms with lots of nooks and crannies. Sat at the bar and got into a deep conversation with the sheep farmer next to me. Learned all about how hard it was to make a living at it, how some meadows were shared in common with other farmers, the price of wool, etc. Then on the other side of me sat a commercial fisherman and we conversed about how joining the EU was ruining his fishing as the big boats from Spain and Portugal moved into Irish fishing grounds. Then the fisherman said something the farmer didn't like about the need to learn Irish. I though it was coming to blows and then the music started. A pipe, a drum, the box playing a mix of traditional and recently written music. The Hen party came out from one of the back rooms and started dancing away and sloshing their drinks. Everyone relaxed and soon most were up on their feet and dancing as if noone was watching. When the pub closed at midnight, the young and the young at heart went upstairs and the disco there turned up the music and the heat. The only reason I know that was open until three was that we were in the B&B directly opposite and could see the strobe lights and hear the music until then. This was November and not a tourist was to be seen (except me I guess). This was just the locals doing what they do for fun. Had a great time and forgot all about Connor Pass!
Come as you are. Much like Alaska, it is more about who you are and not what you look like. Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicAddress: at the end of Main Street by the bridge

An Droichead Beag in Dingle town is the best time I have ever had. Actually, the musicians and the people started here and then just kept pub hopping from place to place Murphy's, Dick Macks, etc., until we all ended up at MacCarthy's for the last call. Their is a culture of particular traditional musicians who play and hang out all over Dingle. One of the best uillean pipe player, Eoin Duignan, lives here and it's a great treat to catch him in a Pub. Check out his website: http://www.duigo.com/

Of the three pubs we visited during our stay there, Murphys was probably the classiest. A solid meal with woods and red velvet. It was the start of night 2 and then off with the rest of the crowd to Dick Mack's and then the Little Bridge. Just follow the muscians and you stay in the midst of the craic all the night.
Everyone seemed pretty casually dressed. Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingDirections: At the seafront

Mac Carthy's is a simple pub, not much to look at inside, but it sure can be a great place to round out your night of Pub hopping in Dingle. Lots of history in this old Pub. We had our last call here. But look out ...when it is 12:00 midnight, it closes down on the minute. wow....I see that they have changed the color since I have been there. It was bright blue, now it is tan.

Murphy's Pub is one of the most famous places in Dingle Town, along with Dick Macks, O'Flaherty's, MacCarthy's and The Drochead Beag Pub. You will hit them all when you spend the night in Dingle. Murphy's is down by the seafront. Very comfortable is you get a seat early. Eion Duignan on the uillean pipes with his back to us with Blue Hat. John Brown on the guitar. You must go out and enjoy the people and music. Dingle's Pubs are the best I've experienced for Music and Craic.

Down the street and around the corner from our B&B was the eclectic and fun pub by the name of Dick Mack's. Eclectic because the pub is also a repair shop by day. Parts and tools get swept aside for the evening's fun.

An Droichead Beag brings together the performers and audience to experience the true spirit of traditional Irish music, evoking an energy and resonance that makes every session at An Droichead Beag a mighty one, every night of the week from 9.30pm 'till late. This is where i learnt irish dancing ! Leave a Comment

Many people come to Dingle just to hear the music. There are two ways to do this: walk around town and follow your ear, or pick a pub, get a good seat, and wait for the music to start (usually around 9:30 or 10PM). Music is more or less continuous until closing (normally around 11:30). While there's no shortage of pubs with great music (the most famous of which are the Small Bridge Bar and O'Flaherty's), my choice is John Benny Moriarty's. It's cozy, has friendly staff, and the music is very good. Oh, by the way, it has both Guinness and Murphy's on draught, should you choose to have a pint or 2 (or 7 or 12... ;)
Clothing required. Seriously, try to leave your jacket at home, as it can get quite hot and stuffy when the music gets going. Risk a chill and/or getting wet on the walk back to your B&B. Trust me. Dick Mack's Pub has a long history in Dingle . It is both a Shoe Repair shop by day and a Pub by night. Nice looking Pub...there were fresh flowers displayed when we were there. A great place to start your evening of Pub hopping. One evening we caught a herd of sheep being guided down the street in front of the Pub I think it was a daily occurance.
