    The jauna pils (new castle) was build in the 18th century and now features the museum of History and Art.

    The old Cesis Brewery is a typical late 19th century industrial building. The brewery is deservedly known as one of the oldest in Baltics.

    There are eight sculptures of children along the sides of lower section of the steps. By the pond are sculptures showing fishermen retrieving nets, and in the middle of the pond a sculpture in the form of a fountain – a youth and a large fish.

    Unfortunately nothing much is left of them, but you can visit some small parts of it.

    You have to buy ticket to the Museum and you’ll see old and new castle. On view in the museum is a unique exhibition “Treasures of Cesis Castle” giving an insight into the most important and surprising finds obtained in archaeological excavations of the castle.
