Tivoli looks like a cottage from a fairytale, a wooden house in the forest. It is at the beginning of the the footpath along the Geul and a place where you can have a drink before you start walking or one to relax after you come back. Ofcourse they do serve food too.

	eetcafe Plaza: tapas and other snacks

This eetcafe is also serving tapas. But we only tried their sandwiches for lunch along with a good beer ofcourse.
The sandwiches were delicious, and the terrace is small but extremely well placed looking out over the centre of Valkenburg and in the sun for the entire day.

Chiabatta Tuna

We had a quick lunch here. As quick as we could get the sandwich in........
The sandwiches were really large. We had the Chiabatta with Tuna and the Chiabatta La Casa. The La Casa had a spicy minced meat on it, served with garlic sauce.
Both were delicious.

Next visit we will try dinner here.

The restaurant Latinos has some great Cuban / Spanish food. Their tapas plate is just unforgetable. You can choose between tapas with fish, meat or mixed. Beside that they have other dishes which are great.

The terrace is at the end (or beginning, depending where you come from) of the Grote Straat. The only down point is you have to order a meal when sitting at the terrace after 4pm. So if you are looking for a nice place to have a drink take another terrace in this street, there are some pubs too ;-)

Every friday, saturday and sunday the restaurant serves a mexican buffet. The buffet contains 4 kinds of soup (ranged from mild spicy to the very spicy cactus soup), over 20 main courses and a rich dessert buffet. The food was very good and it was clearly marked when a dish was spicy or even hot.
But the main reason to have dinner here is the decor. In the back of the restaurant you will find the tropical garden. An outdoor garden with a roof and heated by so many stoves it feels like in the tropics. On the ground there is gravel and the chairs and tbales add to the garden atmosphere. There are lots of colorful mexican decorations around and some cages with tropical birds between the many green plants.

We had the buffet and couldn't try everthing because there was too mauch choice. But the things we did try were good.

In the main restaurant and barstreet De Grote Straat you will find a nice italian restaurant. The restaurant is nicely decorated with a huge wallpainting near the entrance.

We tried the 3 pastas for two. Three different pastas were brought to our table and altough we thought it were small dishes we could finish it all. The taste was different for all three, but there was one we liked the most: the pasta with cheese-tomato sauce.

After dinner Tom drank an espresso, but Gonnie don't like coffee and ordered a tea. To her surprise she had a choice of 84 different flavours. What a tough choice.....
