 | Nerja Restaurants | Tips 31 - 40 of 55 | | Popular Restaurants | Other Restaurants Tips | All Tips (55) Pleasant little cafe to have breakfast at with outside seating. Its attraction is that it has hot chocolate and churros, both delicious and a popular breakfast or mid-morning snack for Spaniards.
Churros. Churros are made from dough extruded into thin tubes, these have a star shaped cross section and are several inches long. Deep fried to form loops and coated in sugar and dipped in a bowl of hot chocolate they make for a sublime start to the day that is hard to improve on. The Codfather serves British style fish and chips but in a Spanish style cafe setting. It has seating outside as well as inside and a there is a bar, you don't get that in the UK Paper tablecloth and knapkins but the fish and chips are great. Can't comment on anything else as that's all we had. Regular cod and chips in May 2005 were 7.90 Euros per portion.

The Restaurant is part of the Hotel Carabeo and is about two minutes walk from theBalcon de Europa. I would describe the food as International. The starters and desserts are excellent, the main courses less so but still good. There is a good wine list and cocktail menu. The staff are first class, extremely pleasant and attentive, and the surroundings great, you can choose tables from inside, on the terrace or in the garden (bookings essential). It is expensive by local standards, probably most expensive in Nerja. Our meal for two, in 2005, with three courses, a good bottle of wine, one beer, two mineral waters, two coffees and a cocktail was approx. 88 Euros. Sometimes there is guitarist playing Flamenco music and there is also a bettter class of strolling buskers who drop in. It is a good choice for a special meal. Closed on Mondays.

A small restaurant run by a Dutch couple who spent a lot of time in Thailand ,which has influenced their cooking. Meals are freshly prepared, delicious and incredibly cheap. 8 Thai fishcakes with 2 dipping sauces for 4 euro. They were gorgeous. We only found it on our last night otherwise I could comment on other dishes. We will return to Nerja and definitely to this address! The house white wine was only 8 Euro and very palatable.SORRY GUYS WHEN BACK IN NERJA RECENTLY(MAY2008) SADLY DISCOVERED RESTAURANT DID NOT SURVIVE THE WINTER...VERY SAD AS IT WAS REALLY GOOD..AH WELL RESEARCH WILL CONTINUE !! In a great location just past the round bar, this is a great little place to eat, which gets very busy. We struggled to get a table for 2, all tables outside & upstairs on the balcony were taken - however they did accommodate us just next to the bar, on a little table sort of squeezed in there. Normally this would tick me off a little bit, however the place was so cosy, warm, convivial, friendly staff, great service & great food. Lovely ambience. Youare invited to sit on comfy couches to lookat the menu beside lovely cuddly toys! Prices are reasonable. I started with a tasy Mushroom Risotto followed by herb crusted rack of Lamb.Mint sauce offered. The thyme was from their own garden. The dish was tasty and there was a vast amount of meat! My wife had soup ,fresh and tasty followed by the pork knuckle. It was huge and carved by the chef at the table, plenty of crackling and succulent pork. She was unable to finish it. Apple sauce provided. UPDATE back in Nerja in May 2008...Restaurant has changed hands...VERDICT....good but different
Definitely try the Pork or Lamb. Service is naturally relaxed as all dishes are freshly prepared. The two ladies who run the restaraunt are charming and friendly. We tried to return but it was closed for a few days holidays....well deserved. Theme: Eclectic/InternationalPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than average

Fish and chips and beer. Well, what else, oh yes ...fish and chips and beer. I know when one is removed from ones usual habitat one should partake of the local culinary delight. So what! Sometimes you just want fish and chips and beer. Probably had more fish and chips and beer in here than I do at home. It's really good. Great value, very friendly, and simply splendid chish and fips!
