    Entire Barrow is off the beaten path to me! The village of 4,500 is culturally unique. It's ancient, and still a center of whaling from open boats, with a summer festival celebrating a successful hunt and distribution of the meat to the community. But Barrow also is the seat of the North Slope Borough, a county government encompassing a larger area than the state of Nebraska, in which lies North America's largest oil field.

    the chances for you to see Arctic Polar bear is the highest here..

    the little dot in the picture is not polar / bear, it is me.. to practice how to escape from danger.

    they believe Polar bear is stronger than the normal bear.. as you can see in the picture, the height may simply reach 5m when it stands and raise its hands.

  • Everything about Barrow is 'off the beaten path'. It is best if you know someone, or plan on contacting Tundra Tours. Everything costs more than one would expect, but the beauty is captivating.
