 | Puerto Iguazú Shopping | Tips 1 - 2 of 2 | | Popular Shopping | Other Shopping Tips | All Tips (2) After being dropped off in the downtown area, for our first look around Puerto Iguazu, on our second day in town (see General tip), we walked down Av. Victoria Aguirre into the main business area. I needed some cash from an ATM machine but, when we stopped at the first bank we came across, the people at the machines said they were temporarily out of order, but would be working in about 15 minutes. No problem, we continued on to the centre of town where we had seen the Aerolineas Argentinas office. I needed confirm our flights to Mendoza in two days time, but was surprised to find the office closed at 3 PM (forgot about siesta time!). Continuing onward, we stumbled across a second bank, whose ATM machines had just come to life. Cash in-hand, we then doubled-back a very short distance to the internet cafe shown in the photo. We busied ourselves for about 15 minutes each on their slow-speed machines, Sue checking emails from home while I played on VT! At A$3 total (US$1), the cost was about double that of Buenos Aires but it did the trick for us. As we emerged, we saw across the street that the AA office was now open, so I was able to get the tickets sorted out as well, after a short wait in their office. It was a hot afternoon in the low 30 degC range (90 F), so we quickly hoofed it to our hotel to get into that swimming pool just after 4 PM! Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Corner of Av. Off course you can buy a souvenir for home in one of the shops in the centre of Puerto Iguazù. Perhaps think about buying some original handmade crafts from the local Indians, so called ‘Guarani’s’, who do have their booths in the Iguazù National Park. You cann’t miss them when entering the park. Women are still weaving their products like purses and bracelets; young boys are selling wood carved animals. We bought such a wood carved coati, which we had seen in the park and still reminds us to our visit.
