Isla Margarita (Margarita Island) is a tourist destination with many hotels, posadas (inns), and playas (beaches). Just a 2 hr express ferry ride can transport you from Puerto La Cruz to Punta de Piedra (in Isla Margarita). The roundtrip cost of the express ferry is 82,200 VEB ($38 USD as of July 2005). I will update this tip after I return from Venezuela in October.
This is the only website I've found so far offering a flight over Angel Falls, departing from Barcelona and returning the same day.
From hotel - airport- hotel transfer. Fly from Barcelona-Canaima-Barcelona. Includes a fly over Angel Falls, excursion to an indigenous area, trip to Salto Sapo Falls, lunch, and a visit to handicrafts store.
Leave the Barcelona airport at 7 am, fly over Angel Falls (the highest falls in the world). Land in Canaima, hike to Salto Sapo Falls. Return to Canaima for lunch. Return approximately at 6 pm.
Tour offered daily.
