Popular Restaurants | Other Restaurants Tips | All Tips (4) What great food. Tucked away just one block west of the main shopping street is a greengrocer (no surprises there!). However, they have turned part of their premises over to a cafeteria and the food is superb.
We can heartily recommend the soups and a lot of the food is from their own fresh supplies. Do yourself a flavour when in Goulburn.

It`s not a place for children really, it`s more a romantic setting with a stoked fire in winter.
The lighting is low and dim, the wine list is very good, the service is wondeful , the owner runs the place (no second hand managment here) It`s a cottage look kind of place, very homely looking and comfortable. We really love it there
The lamb shank with red wine jus is to die for as is the home made brandy snap basket with home made icecreams (honeycomb, rasberry, mint) and EVERY soup they have to offer is wondeful (even the chickpea they had there once was yummy) and I am not a chickpea fan either. Seriously these guys source the best lamb and fish and what they do with it is yummy!!!
mains are about $22 to $32 entrees are about $12 and desserts are a little over $10 (or try the piggy plate,, a good selection of small desserts to feed 2, thats about $18 I think)

I have been a Hungry Jacks Fanatic for many years.
While most Hungry Jacks restaurants are clean and friendly this one was the worst ever.
The crew was the saddest looking bunch I have ever seeni it would have killed any of them to smile.There were customers waiting to be served I would guess 40 or more and a pathetic manager stood watching them struggle, standing with a clipboard in his hand taking notes.
I asked the girl that waited on me "who died" everyone was so sad looking.
"New owner" was the reply. And the lazy manager won't help us.
The food was far from the normal standard, half the condiments were on the wrapper not on
the burger.....and the place was a total mess. The toilet was putrid. I would suggest that the new owner have their managers do a bit of housekeeping rather than try to look important standing with a clipboard.... Very disgraceful to say the least. Also very sad to see young people working in a place they would obviously rather not be.

Sasso is a real find, amazing to find some of Australias best pizzas not in Sydney or Melbourne but Goulburn. Sasso has a really unique atmosphere with a casual ambience. There is a really strong sense of personality and pride in the food here. Everything from the music, a mix of anything from John Coltrane to Andrew Bird , to the quality of ingrediants and changing specials reflects a real sensibility. A great experience which I highly reccomend. A drop of lifegiving water in the desert that is country dining to use a somewhat overblown analogy.
