Unfortunately I don't remember the name and with the winding streets have no idea what the directions were but I can speak to the food. The cous cous was very good and a first time for me. Be warned that if you are told there is hot sauce, it will be very very hot!! If you like tea, Morocco is famous for it's mint tea and I enjoyed the traditional cake that came with the meal. There are a handful of cafes out on the dirt square in Chouen. They serve traditional food like couscous, tagine, lots of mint tea, and kababs too.
This is the first time I'd tried mint tea, and boy was it sweet! There's also good bakeries in Chouen, they make really good, cheap bread, but the pastries are also really good if you can find them. Leave a Comment

Its not really another tip, I just had another photo of the same restaurant. It was very ornate, just how one would imagine an Arabian home to be. I didnt notice any windows, I would think this would be a lovely cool places to be in the hot summer season. Enlarge the photo for a better look. I am sure it is where the tour leaders bring all the tourists, but it was beautiful. The whole place was covered in Mosaics and Moroccan artifacts and wall design.
Being veggie, our choice was very limited, The obligatory omlette was offered, with vegetable cous cous. Cous Cous was great. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalComparison: about averageDirections: Somewhere in the middle of the Souk...............If you recognise the photo, tell me where it is (~_~)

A good place for breakfast. It's a busy café frequented mainly by locals so the place is very lively. It's one of the best places to have these chocolate rolls that go so well with coffee...

It is very popular with families and kids esp during the evenings.
