Eleko Beach
  • Tip Rating:
  • There are some nice beaches around Victoria Island that you can have some break during the weekends. Eleko beach is one of them.

Located about 1 hour drive away from the city. You can't compare it with Bali, Phuket or Tioman, but it is the best you can find here. Just make do with it. Can't complain too much.

  • Tip Rating:
  • All people coming to the Synagogue Church for healing are meticulously recorded in the written format, by video evidence and by photography. This is a picture of Balang Tirelo - a computer scientist from Botswana.
She first came with her husband to the synagogue church with the problem of being HIV positive - tested October 2001. I met Balang when she was revisiting Lagos (during my second visit)to testify that she and her husband were now negative for HIV - retested Feb. 2002. She came with her certificates and medical reports as documentary evidence for everybody to inspect and is happy for me to share her testimony with you.

  • Tip Rating:
  • Balang was not the only person that week to testify of God's healing of HIV - there was a whole group of them. A special meeting was set up for the americans to shoot film for the tv programme 'Life Issues' by Dr. Marvin E Gorman (in front of pic). Video clips of the people coming for healing from various diseases and cancer were shown and then the actual people were brought in to be interviewed and questioned by the audience and to show the healing that had occurred in their bodies - leg cancers and breast cancers included - Nigerians are nor shy at all. A group of about 30 people healed of HIV/Aids came - all with their own medical certificates too.

  • Hearing the testimonies in the Synagogue Church of once barren women giving thanksgiving to God for the birth of their babies. During the service there is much joy over this and the western visitors are allowed to hold the babies and dance for joy with them. These Nigerians sure know how to worship and the beat of the african drums adds to the enjoyment. This is me pictured with one of the babies and mother. Don't you just love the headgear of the Nigerian women too - they have such a unique style.

  • Tip Rating:
  • See the miracle of HIV sufferers being healed.
Miracles are not just something that happened in the bible thousands of years ago - they are happening today. Doctors may have no cure or vaccination for AIDS but I have witnessed the solution to this terrible problem which is rife in Africa. HIV sufferers can come to the Synagogue Church of all Nations complete with their hospital certificates confirming their antibody status. They receive prayer from an annointed Man of God, T.B. Joshua and are cured - thats right a divine healing. The people return to their hospital and are re-tested, amazing the doctors when they discover they are now antibody negative. Many testify that fevers and body pains are instantly gone. It is stressed that God is the healer, not the man, and that it is free of charge. Just writing about seeing this does not do it justice - you have to be there to really appreciate the everyday miracles occuring in this large church with congregation of 50,000- 70,000.

  • This is a picture of Matthew a photo-journalist and his wife being interviewed by one of the Americans. I saw Matthew 2 days prior to this. He had beeb driven to the synagogue church by his wife as he could not walk due to a spinal injury and high blood pressure. His wife cried out in desperation for his healing...her cry was heard and answered and we were able to join in with their joy at their testimony too.

  • Tip Rating:
  • Another video showed a young boy with horrific leg cancer - so severe that the skin was ulcerated away and the bone was protruding. He came to the synagogue church and was prayed for and after a few days part of the bone dried up and came out (this is what he is holding on the paper in his hand) and the ulcerated skin healed up in 6 days - a miracle in itself. Normally the only solution for this cancer would have been amputation.

    Lekki conservation park
It was my 5th trip to Nigeria before I discovered Lekki conservation park.

Wow what an adventure! It's full of all sorts of wild animals and even a small type of savannah, I saw crocodiles and walked for what felt like miles through bushes and over wooden brigdes etc.

It was very tranquil and was a welcome break from the noisy city!
