This is a very popular trail for cycling in summer. In 1894 the norwegian government decided to build a trainconnection from Oslo to Bergen, and this is the actual trail they used more than a houndred years ago while they were building the rails for the train. Every day houndreds of horses and carriages walked along this path, bringing food, water and materials to the men that was building the rails. This path has remained unchanged since then, and today it is very popular to follow the path by bike. It takes you from Haugast?l to Voss, and the change in altitude is more than 1300 metres. An estimated 20.000 tourists follow the old path every year. Leave a Comment

Geilo is about 3 hours drive northwest of Oslo. The city is situated 794 meters above the sea. There are a little less than 3000 people living here, but there are plenty of cabins and hotels in the area. Many tourists come here in wintertime because of the great skiing possibilities. But it is also a nice place to visit in the summer. Leave a Comment

Geilo is a fantastic place to learn how to ski, we have been told. Although we had to work for some fashion pics, the models were pleased the handsome ski instructors could speak English very well. Yep, we went to the slopes that are pretty short but steep. Find the Ola Slope. Better to stay on the slopes for beginners when a beginner huh? Vestlia and Slaatta are very nice family areas, with a great variety of slopes, from those for beginners till steeper. Unfortunately we could find the time for a really good ski,... what a shame! Again at Dagali airport there is an ice rally track. The track looks quite simple and in the front wheel drive is manageable. However once in the rear wheel BMW the fun begins. The cost is approx £100-£120 for a couple of hours. The great thing past of the rallying was you are expected to skid off the track and be dragged back on by the 4 wheel drive van. The faster you go the slower the time. Expensive but well worth the money. Leave a Comment Address: Dagali airport

Geilo has two ski areas on both sides of the valley. They are connected by a regular bus service and a hotel pick up every morning. The total ski area is good for the social skier but a little small for the keen guys and gals. The huge plus is the quitness of the slopes. We were there the weeik before half term and never had to queue for a lift. This also meant virgin piste especially in the morning. Another plus is the snow cover. Due to the cold temperatures it does not tend to thaw. One minor moan is there is a lot of T bars and buttons. I would highly recommend it for beginners and intermediates. Leave a Comment
