 | Zadar Restaurants | Tips 1 - 10 of 16 | | Popular Restaurants | Other Restaurants Tips | All Tips (16) The restaurant stands on a covered terrace that does not overhang directly the coastal street. It has a view on the beach but is away enough to be quiet. The food is excellent. For starter, we had Dalmatinske pršut (Dalmatian ham) and HobotniĊe salad (octopus salad). I do not remember what we had after that but everything was excellent. This is a very good address. Leave a Comment

Foša is small port next to the Lion's Gate, here you can find one of the most better fish restaurants in whole Croatia.
I strongly recommend this restaurant to those of you who are seafood lovers. Here you can enjoy in every day fresh fish and "frutta di mare". Leave a Comment

Located just outside the city wall's on a small cove. I had smoke dalmation ham, marinated anchovies, frutti de mare risotto and the house wine. Nice terrace.
Their smoked dalmation ham was the best I had during my trip - slightly smokey, silky on the tounge. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: US$21-30 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Fosa 2Directions: located on a small harbour, near the Land Gate (Kopnena Vrata)

The culinary specialties of the Zadar region include some of the finest characteristics of Dalmatian cuisine, which is first and foremost based on fish and other seafood. Everything is enhanced with local olive oil, which is particularly aromatic and delicious in these parts. When here, by all means treat yourself to lamb dishes. This easily digestible and healthy meat, particularly if is from the island of Pag, is usually served roasted. The best time for roast lamb is during the spring, when it is served with green onions. A particularly delicious hors d'oeuvre is the famous Pag cheese. The secret of its wonderful flavor lies in the specific pastures (full of medicinal herbs, and hit by strong sea winds and salt) and special production techniques. The fine local wine goes together well with the Posedarje prosciutto. Salted sardines are a part of the fishing tradition. They can be served in small quantities as hors d'oeuvres or used as garnishing. They can be bought individually at Zadar's fish markets. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Restaurant attached to Hotel Niko. Sits right off a pier, plain but elegant at the same time. Waiters wear white/black and bow ties. VERY attentive waiters -- replaced our bread basket 3 or 4 times each visit. Always made exceptional recommendations -- if you're having seafood -- go with the recommendations! Between the 4 of us, we had the bread, a large platter of clams and mussels in wine/garlic sauce, the tagliatelle (incredible), and a couple of mixed grill platters -- everything was excellent. Upon paying the bill, the waiter offered us some kind of digestivo -- a brown drink that he compared to grapa -- I'm guessing it's like national drink of Croatia or something -- any way, he was very proud to present this to us....tasted like wood. I mean, it was free and I had to be polite.... but it was pretty bad. Tuna carpaccio, gnocci with dalmation ham and rocket, gnocci with gorgonzola and pine nuts, lamb in a red wine sauce, fresh fish fillet in a scampi sauce - everything is a wonderful update of croatian cuisine and very affordable.
The gnocci were so light, the cream sauce luxurious - the tuna carpaccio was sprinkled with fat juicy capers - the lamb was wonderfully tender and flavorful.
