You can take a direct marshrutka to come here. It's about 30 km from Novosibirsk. But be warned, if you don't have a special interest and don't know any people here, it's actually rather boring and confusing. There isn't really anything to see and we got lost and to get back to Novosibirsk is tough in the evening as all marshutkas are already full. There are lots of institutes and some monuments but that's about it.
The positive thing after Novosibirsk is that you can take a walk in the nature. On the way there you will pass the open-air railway museum in Seyatel on your left. This seemed much more appealing to me but I didn't get to visit. Leave a Comment

(Ob sea)
it's the big artificial lake created by the dam on Ob river.

There is a saying:"A Siberian means a skier". It is true. For Siberians skiing is Sport #1. If you live in Akademgorodok, you can just take you skis, go outside, put them on - and go! (important notice: `skiing' in Russia always means 'cross-country skiing', not 'down-hill skiing'). We have excellent ski-tracks around Novosibirsk, most of them ranging 3, 5, or 10 km (1.609 km = 1 mile). The most favourite place for skiing is the Alik Tulskii ski center in Akademgorodok. Besides the standard distances 'for dummies' mentioned above, it has 15, 20, and 35 km tracks. The annual `ski marathon' in March attracts masters from all over Russia.
