 | Los Olivos Things To Do | Tips 1 - 3 of 3 | | Popular Things To Do | Other Things To Do Tips | All Tips (3) Andrew Murray is a young wine maker in the area. It seems that he's establishing quite a name for himself, and I'd agree with the hype because what we tasted was top notch. They were tasting 6 differnt Syrahs while we were there which was perfect for my tastes. If you like reds, especial Pinot Noirs and Syrahs you'll really like Andrew Murray. If you drink enough of his wine, then you might want to visit his cousin, Aurthur Murray, for some dancing. That's a bad joke... you can tell I've been enjoying some of his wine while writing this. If your staying or visiting the Los Olivos area you should do a bike Tour with Santa Barbara Wine Country Cycling Tours. The (2) owners are great. They provided a wonderful experience. Plus, it has a great value. One highlight is that they will conduct tours will just (2) people only (we ended up with a private tour, at no extra cost). We did a 1/2 day wine/bike tour and the gourment lunch was delicious (it was also romantic and private since it was just us). They even ask if you have any suggestions when they buy and prepare the food (fresh). We visited (1) winery which was honestly just enough and we went Olive Oil tasting which was a nice treat/surprise. Overall, very pleased and AWESOME! There's no better reason to go to Los Olivos than to check out the local California vineyards. If you're interested in trying fabulous wine and health conscious, Alma Rosa is the place for you. Richard Sanford is the owner and takes care to use the land around him wisely and produces all organic varietals. Additionally, the bottles are screw cap, as opposed to using corks, which also has advantages. The staff is so knowledgable and accommodating and the vineyard is nestled away in a beautiful spot just a few minutes from Los Olivos. A definite must on your tour of the area - the Sauvignon Blanc is the best! Follow the signs to Santa Rosa Road, and go west for approximately 5 miles. Look for our sign, turn left, and follow the long gravel driveway through our vineyard to the tasting room.Website: http://www.almarosawinery.com
